Beginning
In 1939, St. Luke’s Separate School, consisting of two classrooms was erected. By 1950, it became increasingly apparent that these classrooms were becoming grossly overcrowded. An addition of three more classrooms was built. The blessing of this addition took place at the same time as that of the new church.

1970's
In 1957, the name was changed to “Our Lady of Sorrows”. In 1958 and 1961, the school expanded further to bring the total number classrooms to thirteen. In 1968, the school received its largest extension with three more classrooms, an auditorium, library, seminar room and principal’s office to comprise a total floor area of 24,409 square feet. Students from kindergarten to Grade 7 attend this school.

In 2005, the entire school was torn down except for the auditorium and replaced with a modern two storey building which opened in September.

Plans are now underway to replace the present St. Francis of Assisi School on the Military Base with a new school in the Town in the next year (2011). We look forward to the growth of our Catholic Community Schools.
